Life is a series of ups and downs, pomp and circumstance, life and death, happiness and sadness, love and hate. I call this life cycle Soul Rhythms. My poems, photos and paintings illustrate the rhythms in the cycle of life – growth, spirit, life and love.
I am Beverly D. Banks-Greene, aka The Red Pen Lady, an Atlanta-based artist who writes poetry and experiments with acrylics, oils and mixed media in my visual work. Influenced by the straight-forward and thought-provoking works of Varnette Honeywood, Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence and Jonathan Green, I have a no-nonsense approach to my work, making the final visual piece engaging yet easy to understand my point of view.
