A weed grows out of the concrete sidewalk. Often trampled upon, squashed. Thought useless. This weed is different. The beautiful dandelion’s sunburst petals – radiant yellow and orange gives sustenance to insects. A little girl picks it for her first flower bouquet. But wait. More is to come. In a few days the petals evolve to a snow-white, fluffy feather. With the slightest breeze the tiny white parachutes take flight, or a child’s gentle breath sets free the floating fairies. The power of this flurry is manifold. It ignites growth, more beauty, nourishment, healing.
